Though they would never abuse your trust, it’s sometimes reassuring to know what’s happening at home when you can’t be there. Naples Technology Inc. (NTI) has expanded its inventory to include the latest in remote online surveillance. Small hidden cameras, constantly recording, allow homeowners to keep tabs simply by logging on. Images are displayed in real time (as events occur) and are recorded onto the computer’s hard drive. Although the technology has been available for some time, NTI co-owner Dr. Suzanne Osborne says current devices produce much clearer pictures with fewer glitches. Though the system is designed to aid in home and business security, Osborne says she has been surprised by how many parents use the technology to monitor their kids.
