The "SendTo" menu
appears when you RIGHT click on any file or folder. It is a shortcut
menu and a convenient way to
create one-click shortcuts to the desktop, or to copy files to any location such as My Documents, Desktop Shortcut, DVD disk etc. The idea is to create a
shortcut and either drag and drop
or copy it to the SEND TO folder mentioned here. Whatever you put in this folder will appear
the next time you RIGHT click on any file or folder.
- You can also add your printer to the SendTo
folder for automatic printing, or right click and SendTo your picture to your
favorite photo editing program.
To add items to the SEND TO menu so they
appear when you right click:
Windows 7:
- Click on Start box type in "shell:sendto"
(the full path is: C:\Users\<yourusername>\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Windows\SendTo)
- Double click on the folder that shows in
results.
- Create a shortcut to ANY program or file
that you like, and put in this folder.
Windows XP/2000:
Browse to:
C:\Documents and Settings\<username>\SendTo. This is a hidden folder so you
must click on tools/folder options/view hidden files to view be able to
see it. Once you are finished adding to the SendTo menu it is a good idea to
turn off hidden folders.
