If you are having issues with
something else in Word, search for help in the Word Help Knowledge
Base. Here is how:
In the newer versions of
Microsoft Word (2010 for example), the help menus are interactive on the
web. This is a much better method of support as it connects you to
Microsoft's live knowledge base of information rather than stale help
menu articles. In Word, just click on the little blue "?" question mark on
the upper right corner of your document. It will look like this:

Then the HELP box below appears.
Just type in your question and several suggestions will be provided. Be
specific in your search terms, it will narrow it down more quickly for
more accurate results.
For troubleshooting in
older versions of Word, see the built-in Detect & Repair utility
located on the Word Help
menu. It may require that you insert your MS Office CD while in progress so
have it handy. It will search the current office program and check for
inconsistencies or other issues and correct the problem if it is with the
software. So if your Word is hanging up or doing something out of the
ordinary and you have already checked for viruses, Word may have become
corrupt and this may take care of it for you.
