VESA
standard means a hole pattern on the back of the monitor: 3"x3" or 4"x4"
(75mm x 75mm or 100mm x 100mm). The diameter of the screws are 4 mm. Many
LCD monitor manufacturers worldwide agreed on the VESA standard - a major
accomplishment.
The four holes may be centered or are located
on the lower edge of the monitor. With some models you might have to remove
the original stand (if the electronic is not located in the foot) before you
will see the 4 holes. VESA standard for monitor mounting mentioned above
refers to LCD monitors, also called flat panel monitors or flat screen
monitors. For plasma screens there is a new hole pattern - 200mm x 200 mm.
Also note that the VESA hole pattern may be
covered up by the manufacturers sticker. If this is the case remove the
sticker to reveal the hole pattern if necessary.
Most LCD monitors come with the VESA standard
hole pattern, but there are some exceptions. If you are unsure contact us
and we can check a particular LCD monitor to make sure it is compliant with VESA standard as described
above.

What does the term VESA
Standard mean?
[VESA] stands for Video
Electronics
Standards
Association.
This is an international non-profit corporation, which represents more than
100 corporate members worldwide. VESA supports and sets industry-wide
interface standards for the PC, workstation, and computing environments.
VESA promotes and develops timely, relevant, open standards for the display
and display interface industry, ensuring interoperability and encouraging
innovation and market growth. For more detailed information visit
www.vesa.org.
All our monitor arms, including
lcd monitor arms for desktop, wall mounts, monitor mounts on poles, dual
monitor mounts and ceiling mounts - without exception - include both hole
patterns. You will never have to second guess if an lcd mount sold by Ergo
In Demand, Inc. comes with all the requirements necessary to install your
monitor. All monitor arms and wall brackets are easy to mount - and the
products come with all the right hardware, including the four screws.
Before
you buy an LCD monitor, please make sure to check if your monitor has the VESA
pattern. Often, the foot or stand has
to be removed to display the VESA hole pattern. However, if the electronic
is located in the foot, don't remove it!
In that case your LCD will not mount to any arm.
We hope this information is
helpful to you - if you still have any questions about your monitor or about
the VESA standard, please do not hesitate to
contact us.
